A Cognitive Behavioural Therapist shares insights and reflections on all things mental health, wellbeing and life

You are not stuck in traffic. You are the traffic- Thich Nhat Hanh. 🚦

Feeling stuck can be presented to us in a variety of ways. When in traffic or waiting in a queue can be examples of this. Some may find this frustrating particularly if we are running late and have places to be. Essentially we are wanting to be somewhere but are in fact stuck somewhere else. This discrepancy can reflect in other areas of life. In moments when we may experience difficult emotions for example or in periods of low mood or in situations that we could do without. We understandably may have the desire to be in a different space, physically and mentally. This tug of war with ourselves can further intensify difficult feelings. In experimenting with meeting ourselves exactly where we are, letting go and welcoming whatever may be present, we may find that there is something more beautiful to be found. #mindfulness #nature #river #greenery #wellbeing #mentalhealth #thichnhathanh
